Charles Carson
Charles R Carson, Senior Advisor for TrueNorth Capital Partners and part of its Environmental Team, has over 30 years of investment banking and private equity experience advising middle-market clients in the Environmental Services Sector.
Charlie is a senior business advisor and seasoned executive with deep experience in finance, private equity and corporate leadership. He began his career in financial services at Citibank, rising to Vice President early in his career. In 1978 he moved to become Treasurer of City Investing Company, an $8 billion conglomerate. When City Investing sold all its constituent companies and returned the funds to its shareholders in 1986, Charlie and City Investing’s Chief Financial Officer, John Quirk, co-founded Quirk Carson Peppet, where he spent 15 years advising middle-market clients on financial strategy and growth.
In 2000 Charlie and John Quirk became Principals at Churchill Capital, a private equity firm with its head office in Minneapolis. They were based in New York City and made investments in Environmental Services companies.
In 2005, Charlie co-founded Cronus Partners in Norwalk, CT, a boutique investment bank serving the middle market. As a Managing Director, he was responsible for providing M&A, capital raising, restructuring and other financial and strategic advisory services to middle market clients primarily in the Environmental Services Sector.
Charlie received an AB degree in Economics from Hamilton College and completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School, sponsored by Citibank. He also served as an officer in the United States Army in Thailand. Charlie has various securities licenses, including Series 7, 24, 63 and 79. Charlie lives in New Orleans where he is Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Saint Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church and is on the Board of the Louisiana Chapter of the Salvation Army.
