Dean Miltimore
L. Dean Miltimore is a Managing Director of TrueNorth Capital Partners LLC where he is involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment banking activities. Dean has spent his career in investment banking with advisory assignments in a wide range of corporate finance matters, including buy and sell-side assignments, fairness opinions, IPOs, public tenders, LBO/MBOs, and debt and equity placements. Since Dean started his career at Kidder, Peabody in 1978, he has advised clients both domestically and around the world including Europe, Asia, Latin America, and South Africa. These engagements have focused primarily on middle-market companies and have included a wide variety businesses and industries including manufacturing, medical devices, food retail and distribution, services, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and energy. In addition, Dean has long-standing relationships in the private equity community.
Just prior to joining TrueNorth, Dean was a Senior Advisor to Knox & Co. after having served as a Managing Director with BNY Capital Markets, Inc. where he held senior coverage responsibility for private equity firms, as well as national corporate and middle-market clients. BNY Capital Markets recruited the principals of Cape Partners, LLC, an advisory firm Dean co-founded in 2004 with the principals of the Mergers and Acquisitions Group of Fieldstone Inc. Dean joined Fieldstone from Dunn Johnston & Co., a boutique firm that focused on exclusive sale mandates in the middle market.
Prior to Dunn Johnston, Dean was at HSBC Securities, Inc., where he headed the U.S. merger and acquisition team. Prior to HSBC he spent eight years at Bankers Trust Company as an M&A banker. While at Bankers Trust Dean’s responsibilities included merger and acquisition account responsibility for Kohlberg Kravis & Roberts, the bank’s largest client and had oversight responsibility for the Bank’s exclusive sale mandates.
Dean graduated from Union College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and earned a Masters Degree in Finance from the Wharton School of Finance. He is a member of the Corporation of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and a member of the Audit Committee. He holds the Series 7, 63, 79 and 99 securities licenses.
