TrueNorth Capital Partners Announces Expansion With Two Senior Appointments
Norwalk, Connecticut, December 2009 – TrueNorth Capital Partners LLC today announced the expansion of its private placement and M&A business with the additions of Robert D. Africk and David E. Fisher as Managing Directors. These senior appointments support TrueNorth’s interest in providing exceptional advisory services in the areas of private capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. With strong backgrounds in investment banking, Mr. Africk and Mr. Fisher bring a depth of industry and product expertise to the rapidly growing firm.
Mr. Africk has been advising middle market companies on capital raising and mergers and acquisitions for 30 years, having completed a broad range of transactions valued in excess of $40 billion. His experience includes debt and equity private placements and public offerings, leveraged buyouts, divestitures, mergers and acquisitions in a variety of industries, with a specialization in the energy sector, financial services, media and industrials, for early stage, growth and mature clients. During his career, he has held senior investment banking positions, including Head of Investment Banking, Syndicate and Energy M&A at such firms as Prudential Securities, Blaylock & Partners and Jesup & Lamont Securities. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at Westbury Group, a boutique investment bank. Prior to his career in investment banking, he worked for Exxon Corporation, rising to the post of Assistant Treasurer. Mr. Africk is a graduate of Bucknell University and received his MBA from New York University.
Mr. Fisher has approximately 30 years experience in investment banking, commercial banking and credit risk management for a variety of financial institutions. A highly trained corporate finance and risk management advisor, he held senior positions at Credit Lyonnais, Barclays Capital and SunTrust after a 15 year career with Citibank in their London, Houston and New York City offices. In these positions, Mr. Fisher’s responsibilities have included new business development in structured finance, treasury risk management and credit risk analyses of portfolios of up to $50 billion in assets. At SunTrust, he chaired the Allowance for Loan and Lease Loss Committee and represented Credit Risk Management in the Basel II Committee. Whether in his investment or commercial banking roles, Mr. Fisher has been focused in providing sophisticated financial advice and portfolio risk analyses on financial institutions and across other investment opportunities and strategies. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at Westbury Group, a boutique investment bank. Mr. Fisher holds his MA from Cambridge University in England and is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals and the Professional Risk Management Industry Association.
