Norwalk, Connecticut March, 2012 – TrueNorth Capital Partners LLC announced that Mathis Shinnick joined the firm as a Managing Director. Mr. Shinnick will be involved in mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory assignments and corporate restructurings, both domestic and internationally. Mr. Shinnick has spent his career in leadership roles and investment banking with advisory assignments in a wide range of corporate finance matters, including buy and sell-side assignments, fairness opinions, LBO/MBOs, and debt and equity placements. Since Mr. Shinnick started his career in 1981, he has advised clients both domestically and around the world including Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. In undertaking these roles and assignments, Mr. Shinnick has lived and worked in Latin America, Europe and Asia. These engagements have focused on large corporate and middle-market companies in the aerospace & defense, financial services and transportation industries. In addition, Mr. Shinnick has long-standing relationships in the private equity community.

Just prior to joining TrueNorth, Mr. Shinnick was the CEO of Hong Kong Aviation Capital (HKAC), and President of HNA Group International Headquarter (Hong Kong) Co Ltd., transportation investment and leasing entities based in Hong Kong. Mr. Shinnick was recruited to HKAC from his role as the Global Head and Executive Vice President of the global transportation business of HSH Nordbank AG based in Hamburg, Germany. Prior to joining HSH Nordbank, he founded and managed the Aerospace & Defense M&A practice for Deloitte & Touché Corporate Finance based in New York. Mr. Shinnick spent 20 years in investment banking before Deloitte, at Chase Securities where he was the Head of Aerospace & Defense and responsible for the team undertaking investment banking and corporate finance activities in the sector.

Mr. Shinnick graduated from The University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and earned an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management. He holds the Series 7, 79 and 63 securities licenses.
