Dave Reilly and Dan McCord Join TrueNorth
Stamford, CT, January 2020: TrueNorth Capital Partners LLC is pleased to announce that David Reilly has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Dave brings over 30 years of experience in investment banking, advising clients on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (buy-side and sell-side), divestitures, strategic alliances and financings for growth, acquisitions, recapitalizations and management buyouts within the healthcare/medical industry as well as in the HVAC services industry.
Prior to joining TrueNorth, Dave spearheaded the healthcare practices of several M&A boutiques, including Viant Group and Cronus Partners, a firm he co-founded. Dave began his career at Smith Barney as a member of the Healthcare Group supporting the execution of initial and secondary public offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions. Dave earned his MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a BA from the University of Rochester and holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 79 securities licenses.
Over his career, Dave has originated a diverse client base in many sectors of healthcare and developed deep knowledge of the healthcare industry and its participants, both in North America and Europe. He has served as lead banker on many sell-side mandates, initiating and executing transactions for clients such as General Electric on the divestiture of its orthopedic implant manufacturing business to Oerlikon AG; Montefiore on its divestiture of a proprietary IT platform; Viasys Healthcare (formerly NYSE) on the divestiture of its vital signs monitoring business; several private equity-backed portfolio companies such as Allegiance Hospice on its sale to Sun Healthcare and Maetta Sciences on its sale to Flextronics; and many entrepreneur-founded and family-owned companies. On the buy-side, Dave initiated and led the execution of several transformative transactions for Arcam AB (formerly NASDAQ OMX Stockholm), a leader in 3D printing technology for orthopedic and aerospace markets, and initiated and orchestrated a management buyout and recap financing for Beacon Hospice, the largest hospice in New England. Over three decades, Dave has represented clients in a variety of healthcare sectors, including medical/dental technology, orthopedic devices, healthcare services, specialty pharmacy, CRO, diagnostics, HCIT and contract manufacturing of medical implants and instruments.
Dave has recently broadened his industry expertise to include the $90 billion, highly fragmented home comfort/HVAC services industry in which he has served as lead buy-side M&A banker on the acquisition of several HVAC businesses for the leading residential HVAC player in Canada and a US-based private equity-backed platform company formed to acquire and operate market-leading residential HVAC businesses.
TrueNorth is pleased to also welcome Dan McCord as an Associate, who worked with Dave at Viant for over three years on client mandates for many healthcare companies as well as in the HVAC industry, supporting the execution of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, strategic alliances and private placement financings. Dan started his career as an intern at Anthos Capital, a private equity firm, where he conducted research and analysis for senior investment executives in originating investment opportunities. Dan received his BA from Princeton University where he was a 2-sport Division I Athlete. Dan is an Eagle Scout and holds his Series 79, 62 and 63 licenses.
